The maximum number of singers able to sing in an ELMvc event has now been capped at 100. After viewing Eric Whitacre's latest production, involving over 8000 singers, the penny dropped for me. The larger the number of singers, the more difficult it is to adequately feature all singers (impossible with over 8000!) http://ericwhitacre.com/the-virtual-choir. To me, his original video remains my favorite http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7o7BrlbaDs. It is much more intimate and gives decent 'air time' to each singer. For ELMvc from here on - small is beautiful.

Deadline: 27th Sept 2013 Students of the John Tonkin College school choir are to participate in Each Moment (100) as a music assignment. Their music teacher, Rebecca Read, is working closely with ELMvc to initiate this exciting collaboration. The timing of Rebecca's scheduled assessment of student performances was an important input into setting the deadline. The school choir's contribution to Each Moment (100) is most welcome and will substantially bolster singer numbers. With the deadline now set, it's time for other singers to jump on board! Register your interest now! We are delighted to announce that Jonathon Welch AM has graciously accepted our invitation to become patron of the Each Living Moment virtual choir. We cannot imagine there could be a better candidate, as testified by the Medal of Australia awarded to Jonathon for his contribution to the arts. His philanthropic initiative to establish the Choir of Hard Knocks for homeless people is particularly relevant, given ELMvc has similar altruistic objectives. WELCOME ABOARD JONATHON!
