ELMvc is one of eight choirs based in the Peel Region of Western Australia invited to participate in the Mandurah Proms on Sunday 28th April 2013 starting at 4 p.m.. <<< click picture for more info. The event will be conducted by Jonathon Welch AM (of the Choir of Hard Knocks fame) and is expected to be one of the major attractions in the 2013 Stretch Festival. You will be required to learn several pieces of music distributed by Jonathon and commit your time and best effort at the coaching workshops over the four days leading up to, and including, the event. Nothing ventured - nothing gained! To participate you must be a registered ELMvc singer and you will also need to register for the event, so that we can send paper based sheet music to you in the post. Clearly, you will also need to live within a practical commuting distance from Mandurah (commiserations to our more distant members!).

We're three weeks into the four week practice and record session for Each Moment... as of Monday, SEVEN DAYS LEFT (includes the Easter week-end). We need three weeks to process your videos and produce the movie, there will be no practice/recording time extension)! Although we haven't received any of your video clips yet, I trust we will be flooded with them as you approach the deadline. Don't forget... if you're experiencing any technical difficulties with your practice or recording, go to the Music Forum and seek help. We are monitoring the Forum each day and suggest you do likewise during these last few days. We're ready to help you if needed. We have drafted a film script for the HD Movie and construction of virtual venue commences next week. Love and live WVB We have received the official timetable for ELMvc singer participation in the 2013 Stretch Festival. Does it get any better than this?
The timetable is:
This is a big time commitment for those of you able to attend... but nothing ventured, nothing gained. A great opportunity! With your virtual performance, you have four weeks to practise and perform (record). Jonathon Welch (our patron, coach and conductor) has only six hours over three days to help you, and singers from other choirs, prepare for the live Mandurah Proms concert. For those who can make the time, contact Walter or Roger (see Contact Us) if you would like to be billeted - we'll see what can be arranged. Friends and family may buy tickets online (Adult $45, Concession $42, Child $20) from the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre. We're targeting a block of seats in the stalls (H11 - K25) for ELMvc fans. If you cannot commit to the full time required to perform in the Proms, please attend the ELMvc Movie Launch and Workshop (if physically able). Two dates published earlier for the Mandurah Stretch Festival were incorrect. Please note:
Our apologies for any confusion caused by these incorrect dates. WVB Today marks the start of the official period of time allowed for practising and recording Each Moment'. By popular demand, we have extended the deadline, for submitting your videos, to the 31st March 2013. Recording Guidelines are now in place (except for the technical process relating to Apple computers - these will be available shortly). We encourage you to buddy up with your local technical experts (friends or family) and to help each other via the Music Forum we have provided for you to communicate among yourselves and with us. Please join the Music Forum and start posting! On behalf of Leah Blankendaal and the ELMvc team I wish you all the very best during your singing endeavours this month and 'break a leg!'. Love and live Walter After a lot of hard work by Leah and the ELMvc team, and many hours of computer rendering and uploading, conductor instruction on video is now available for all eight parts of Each Moment. This leaves only the Recording Guidelines to be completed. These will be available by the official 4th March start of the practice and performance session. The ELMvc team have been researching technical ways to submit the relatively large video files you will be generating from your recording. We have chosen a free online service called Dropbox for your video file submission to us. All registered singers will soon be receiving an invitation to join Dropbox. Please accept our invitation to join, as it is the most efficient way of submitting your video to us. You will also find Dropbox to be a great way of sharing data with your family and friends (e.g. photos). Go for it! Love and live WVB |
