Practice Music:

This page directs you to practice music with which you can learn and record the music part(s) of your choice, and provides guidance on their use.. Yes, unlike a live choir performance, you can sing more than one part if you wish! Remember, the deadline for video submissions is 1st October 2014.

There is practice music to suit all levels of singing experience. You can choose to sing a simple two part melody, simple two part harmony or rich four part harmony arrangements of the song, in whatever singing part(s) is appropriate for  you.
Go to practice and recording GUIDELINES for general ELM advice on how to participate.
Singer Registration enables:
  1. Important info to be commun- icated to you during the Project.
  2. Acknowledgement of  your participation in the movie credits.
  3. Secure and effective submission of your large video file(s) to us.

The SIMPLE MELODY version is a TWO part male/female arrangement intended for those who like to join in sing-along parties or sing in the shower. This arrangement is available with simple lyrics or sheet music notation.
The SIMPLE HARMONY version is a TWO part arrangement similar to that above - better suited for those who are familiar with music notation and like to sing in harmony.
The RICH HARMONY version is a FOUR part soprano, alto, tenor and bass (SATB) arrangement well suited for those who sing, or have sung, in a choir. This arrangement is available in variations specific for each SATB part.
The project is timed to deliver this important message to the public in the form of a music movie that will be launched at the national Arts&Edges Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Kalgoorlie-Boulder during 16-19 October 2014.  For more information about the meaning of the song and the project, click here!

Sheet music and computer simulated audio voice practice music have been available for registered singers as at 1st July 2014, which have allowed the 'early bird' singers to learn the lyrics and musical notes for their part(s). More recently, as at 29th July, video resources were provided that integrate:
  • sheet music,
  • audio resources and
  • conducting by our Music Director.
The conducting will help keep you in time with the tempo of the song. The translucent music notation and/or lyrics scroll across the screen so you can keep your eyes directed toward the Music Conductor and webcam/tablet/smartphone camera. The audio of your chosen part is played through head/earphones for you to better pitch the music notes.
These initial computer generated practice resources, which have simulated voice tracks, will be progressively replaced by versions recorded by singers, who sing the lyrics of the song, for final rehearsal and performance.
