Peel Regional Choirs:

We cordially invite choral singers of participating Peel Region choirs, to join ELM in the lead-up to the 3rd May 2104 Mandurah Proms to sing the beautiful Eric Bogle song 'Shelter' and to participate in a spontaneous 'flashmob' rendition of 'Each Moment' during the screening of the movie.

We understand, of course, that singers must discharge their responsibilities to their home choir's Proms commitments before considering extra-curricular singing with the ELM community. We have made life as easy as possible by preparing a great set of paper and web based practice music for you. These resources will enable you to learn the music quickly and efficiently where ever you may be:
  • HOME - private practice over the coming weeks,
  • JOINT SESSIONS - ELM run rehearsal sessions as we approach the Proms and
  • PROMS WORKSHOP - being conducted by Jonathon Welch for ELM.

Date                                                     Time                                  Activity
Friday                  2nd May 2014         3:45 pm to 5:00 pm         ELM Workshop
Saturday              3rd May 2014          Noon to 1:00 pm              ‘Each Moment’ Flashmob rehearsal

Please help us spread this invitation to others, particularly those who don't have Internet access.
ELM will be singing one song in its own right on stage, namely;
  • 'Shelter' (click here to register)
Composeed by: E Bogle, SATB arrangement by W Bennett and K Maesalu

ELM has also contributed a song for participating choirs as Massed Voices to sing for which extra practice resources are available:
  • 'Wonderful Life!'
Music by: W Bennett, Lyrics by: R Palmer, SA-TB arrangement by Tim Cunniffe

Everybody present at the Proms, be they participating singers or members of the audience, may take part of a 'flashmob' happening to sing along with the music movie 'Each Moment' that is to be screened during the Proms concert.
  • 'Each Moment - flashmob'
Music by: W Bennett, Lyrics by: R Palmer, vocal arrangement by T Cunniffe, band arrangement by K Maesalu

Lyrics
I’m drowning in the sunshine as it pours down from the skies
There’s something stirring in my heart, bright colours fill my eyes
As from here to the far horizon, your beauty does unfold
And oh you look so lovely, dressed in green and gold.

And I can almost touch the ocean shimmering in the distant haze
As I stand here on this mountain on this loveliest day of days
Round half the world I’ve drifted, left no wild oats unsown
But now my view has shifted and I think I’ve just come home.

To the homeless and the hungry may you always open doors
May the restless and the weary find safe harbour on your shores
May you always be our Dreamtime place, our spirit’s glad release
May you always be our shelter, may we always live in peace.

And now I’m drowning in the sunshine as it pours down from the skies
There’s something stirring in my heart, bright colours fill my eyes
As from here to the far horizon, your beauty does unfold
And oh you look so lovely, dressed in green and gold
May you always be our shelter, may we always live in peace...
in peace... in peace.
