Audio - SIMPLE HARMONY:

Picture
These audio files accompany sheet music intended for singers with sufficient experience to hold a harmony line.

In particular, they will be very familiar to those who sang 'Wonderful Life!' at the 2014 Mandurah Proms, for they are essentially the same version.

The music has two vocal parts, namely; Soprano/Alto (girls/women) and Tenor/Bass (boys/men).

Although this option has two parts like the SIMPLE MELODY option, it provides a two part harmony, more overlapping parts and music notes of a wider range (with optional notes for those who cannot reach the the higher pitched notes).

The audio files are available in three versions, namely;
  • Both Parts: with balanced balanced volume across them,
  • Female Part (where the Soprano/Alto (Female) vocal part sounds loud compared to the subdued volume of the Tenor/Bass (Male) part, and
  • Male Part (where the Tenor/Bass (Male) vocal part sounds loud compared to the subdued volume of the Soprano/Alto (Female)  part.

You may download the files to your computer or play them online.

Wonderful Life!
Music by: W. V. Bennett
Lyrics by:N. R. Palmer

NOTE: The song has flute and piano accompaniment with a sixteen bar introduction.

Verse 1
Care free! Roam free, all day long tasting freedom.
My feet fall soft a-long paths worn and dusty.
Pirate ship, sails full, on the river of dreaming.
Ragged crew, sword in hand, battle brave without fear.

Chorus
Open field so wide to run. A hide to keep me safe.
Summer sky shine down. Winter sky soft rain.
Feeling joy. This wonderful life!

Verse 2
Bush trail, bird song, gum tree blossom float downward.
Tall tree, climb high, all the world spread before me.
My old dog, good friend, staying close by me always.
Setting sun, back to home, at the end of the day.

Chorus

Open field so wide to run. A hide to keep me safe.
Summer sky shine down. Winter sky soft rain.
Feeling joy. This wonderful life!

Bridge
Walking with the wind, joyful for the young.
Wondrous childhood far behind us.  Let our young ones run with life!

Verse 3
Old house, kind hand, long gone stories to thrill me.
Ripe fruit taste sweet, growing there for the taking.
Bonfire bright and hot. Glowing sparks fly the night sky.
Vivid mem‘ries of mine, handed on forever more.

Chorus
Open field so wide to run. A hide to keep me safe.
Summer sky shine down. Winter sky soft rain.
Feeling joy. This wonderful life!
Feeling joy. This wonderful life!
